چکیده

Abstract Water pollution with Kerosene is considered as a serious environmental problem in Basrah. Typha domingensis was used to treat kerosene-contaminated water the construction wetland system. The Isolated bacteria most efficient degradation Kerosene. Bacteria isolated from contaminated by hydrocarbons of four stations Basrah, these isolates were tested show efficiency degrading be phytoremediation contamination hydrocarbons. Twelve bacterial identified Bacillus sp. (B11) oil based on phytotoxicity test. experiment conducted for 72 days two glass basins containing 5% kerosene concentration T. . Isolate added test interaction plant and ponds without pollutant control basin free pollutant, temperature between (20.6-36.2)°C, dissolved oxygen (2.5-7.4) mg / L. rate removal bacteria, only (76.5%), (81.9)%, (74.1%), (57.4) respectively.

Wastewater treatment using integrated anaerobic baffled reactor and Bio-rack wetland planted with Phragmites sp. and Typha sp.

The purpose of this study is to examine the potential use of anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) followed by Bio-rack wetland planted with Phragmites sp. and Typha sp. for treating domestic wastewater generated by small communities (751 mg COD/L, 500 SCOD mg/L, 348 mg BOD5/L). Two parallel laboratory-scale models showed that the process planted with Phragmites sp. and Typha sp. are capable of remov...

Municipal wastewater treatment by the bioaugmentation of Bacillus sp. K5 within a sequencing batch reactor

Artificial municipal wastewater was treated successfully by the bioaugmentation of Bacillus sp. K5 capable of simultaneous nitrification and denitrification (SND) within a sequencing batch reactor (SBR). During the long-term operation, the bioaugmentation system exhibited an excellent and steady COD and NH4+-N removal without nitrite and nitrate accumulation. The average removal efficiency for ...

Application of Typha Latifolica and Polygonum aviculare for Ahwaz Urban Wastewater Treatment

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of phytoremediation on reduction of phosphate, nitrate, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of Ahwaz wastewater during 90 days. A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications was used for this experiment. The plants of Typha Latifolica and seven grasses (Polygonum aviculare) were selected acco...
